The rules set out below are designed to ensure the safety of racers, support fundamental concept of fair play and mantain the overall integrity of the race itself. Every racer is supposed to have read and understood the Official Regulations of the race and to respect it.
Wildtrack a.s.d. is the Official Organizer of the Hellas TransMountains Challenge that this year will take place in Greece, in the Peloponnese.
Everyone being 18 years of age at the moment of the race’s start, any nationality, is admitted to the competition with no discrimination as long as fit and medical and health conditions are appropriate.
Every applicant has to present a medical/sportive health certificate proving he is fit. Those documents have to be handed in before august 31st 2013 and are mandatory to complete the registration successfully.
Every racer has to sign a form, releasing the organization of any responsibility regarding sit/her own health.
Professional athletes as well, are admitted to the race.
Hellas TransMountains is a only-one-stage race where every biker is free to set his/her own pace and stops. The time limit has been determined by the Organizing Team according to the length of the route and the conditions of the terrain. The time limit is defined as the maximum time allowed to ride the whole race’s length of the official route from start to finish line and it is 150 hours.
Route and Rules of the race can be updated by the Organizing Team due to particular situations such as extreme necessity or safety reasons. Any update will be informed to the athletes during the briefing prior the start of the race.
Racers must complete the full designated route and distance of 550 km. The full designated route is marked by Organizing Team. A racer must at all times follow the official route, obey the direction of the Organizing Team and not take any shortcuts or take advantage of a similar nature against competitors.
GPS details (gpx format) of the route will be provided 10 days before the star. During the briefing prior the start, the Organizing Team will provide also the participants with maps containing all the necessary race’s info.
The race does not have exclusive use of any public or private roads during the race. All regular traffic regulations must be observed at all times during the race.
Any protest must be submitted within 48 hours in writing to Race Referee after the racer crossing the finish line. A deposit of 50,00 € must be accompany each protest before the protest will be considered. Only if the protest is upheld, the deposit will be returned.
Categories of the Racers
Solo Man Category;
Solo Woman Category;
2 Persons-Team Category.
Organizing Team will prepare a list of the overall results, as well as one for each category at the end of the race:
Male or mixed Team;
Tandem belongs to the Team Category.
Technical Equipment and personal security
Every racer is suggested and encouraged to use his/her own GPS unit to exactly identify his position for security reasons, even if Hellas TransMountains is not an orientation race and the complete route is well marked in every point. The GPS track of the entire race is available from the Organization.
In order to guarantee racer’s personal security, each racer is requested to carry with him during the race, the following security equipment:
Officially approved helmet;
Electric front torch or similar;
Mobile phone with useful Organization’s telephone numbers stored in it.
The Organizing Team will check the equipment before the start; surprise checks will be made as well to verify the integrity of security equipment during the race.
Only MTB (26″, 29″ and 27,5″, singlespeed and tandem) in good working order will be admitted to start the race. Riders should count on their own capability and not be dependent upon the organization to repair their bikes.
Along the track there will be check-points for timing. Racers that are not detected at the check-points may be disqualified.
Respecting the Environment and the People
Each athlete must follow all the indications for the protection of the environment given by the Organizing Team with care, respecting therefore the place and the population as well as keeping up sport spirit of this event.
It’s strictly prohibited to throw away trash and to invade private property. A polite wave is always well-liked by greek population. Any incorrect behavior regarding the environment will be punished severely by the organizers.
Withdrawal from the Race
Any racer can withdraw from the race whenever they want. Any racer withdrawing for whatever reason from the race must inform the Organizing Team as soon. Organizing Team will transport him/her and his/her bike to the start point. Any racer choosing for definitive withdrawal from the race will be cancelled from classification. Any racer withdrawing from the race is free to bring the return forward at his/her own expense; in that case the Organizing Team is not responsible for the participant’s logistics.
Medical Assistance and Insurance
Every racer must report as soon as possible to the Organizing Team or at the check-points about any accident/injury witnessed along the route. There is not full-time helicopter monitoring; but there is a helicopter coverage in case of serious accident.
Each racer partecipates upon his/her will and responsibility. Therefore the Organizing Team cannot be made liable for any accidents, falls or illness occurring during the entire duration of the race.
No personal insurance is foreseen for the racer by Organizing Team.
Official Program – Edition 2013
September 28th 2013: all the athletes must arrive at Athens by this day. At 4.00 p.m. the vehicles of the Organizing Team will be at the airport of the capital to provide transfer to the down town in front of our Head Quarter Filoxenia Hotel.
September 29th 2013 at the Filoxenia Hotel:
9.00 a.m.: check of the bikes and necessary kit. Racers pick up the “Race Number” and “Race Package”
2.00 p.m.: general Briefing.
September 30th 2013 at 6.00 a.m. start of the 2nd edition of the Hellas TransMountains Race.
Maximun Time allowed: Friday October 4th, 10.00 p.m.
The registration for the 2nd edition of Hellas TransMountains will be opened from: June 1st 2013

THE PRICE INCLUDES
Registration to the event for the year 2013;
Transfer airport-hotel-airport on September 28th and October 5th 2013 (this service is not available for people travelling on their own or flying to different airport that is not Athens’ one);
3 nigths at Hotel Filoxenia in Kalavryta (September 29th and 30th, October 4th);
2 dinners (September 30th and October 4th);
3 check-points with food availability and possibility to rest with own sleeping bag;
Technical assistance with jeeps in case of withdrawal or serious problems;
Final prize-giving ceremony.
THE PRICE DOESN’T INCLUDE
Transport from your country of residence to Athens and back;
Extra nights at Filoxenia Hotel;
Everything which is not indicated in “The price includes”.
For the people who want to go with the athletes, friends or family, is considered a special price for the stay at Kalavryta: € 220,00 (per head). This prices includes:
7 nights bed&breakfast at Filoxenia Hotel;
2 dinners in a typical restaurant;
Children within 2 years old stay free;
Price doesn’t include extra meals and extra services.
Candidates have to fill out the Entrance Request in order to express the will to take part to the 2nd edition of Hellas TransMountains challenge. Then, to the candidates will be sent an email from the Official Organizer of the race, Wildtrack a.s.d., containing the enrollment form to Wildtrack association. It is reminded that only the Wildtrack a.s.d.’s members are allowed to take part to the race, therefore the enrollment to the association is compulsory to the Hellas TransMountains’ registration.

Conditions of Rembursement
Any withdrawal request must be made in writing to email@example.com before July 30th, 2013.
Where, for whatever reason, a participant registered in Hellas TransMountains 2013 is forced to withdraw, the individual must give written notification by e-mail to Wildtrack a.s.d. within July 30th, 2013 (Rome-Madrid time zone).
In this case Wildtrack a.s.d. retains € 300,00 as administrative expenses. The difference will be refunded. In case the notification will arrive after July 30, 2013 (Rome-Madrid time zone) Wildtrack a.s.d. will not recognize any financial reimbursement fee.
The withdrawal who will give notification after July 30th, 2013 is however eligible for the reimbursement above if:
Wildtrack a.s.d. has a waiting list and can find another athlete who will take place of the retired;
The retreat has an interested person to occupy his own the place.
Minimum number of participants: 16;
Maximum number of participants: 50.
If the minimum number of participants will not be reached, Wildtrack a.s.d. will provide to give the registration price back.
